National Love our Children Day

April 3rd is National Love Our Children Day and this Saturday we want to encourage all of you to take time out to do something special for the children in your life. After a year of having their lives upended by the pandemic, our children need our love and support more than ever. So take the time this weekend to do something special for the young people in your life.

  • Prepare their favorite meal and serve it up in style

  • Send them flowers with a note about how much you love and appreciate them

  • Ask them what they would like to do and make it happen

  • Bake a new and decadent dessert together

  • Give them a long and embarrassing hug

And, remember, the best and simplest gift you can give your child is the gift of your attention. So, turn off your phone and get curious about how your child is feeling and what they are thinking. Try to find out something new about your child by asking open-ended questions and keeping the focus on them. When we give our children our full and undivided attention, when we deeply listen to what they have to say, we are demonstrating how much we value and love them. So, give the gift of your attention to your children and don’t forget to laugh!
